There are a variety of education opportunities within the Division of Sports Medicine:
Faculty from the Division of Sports Medicine teach undergraduate and graduate courses for the Schools of Human Kinetics, Rehab. Medicine and the Department of Orthopaedics
Allan McGavin Sports Medicine Centre is a teaching facility. In Primary Care, priority is given to the training of 2nd year family practice residents from the lower mainland and rural areas. Space permitting, Physical Medicine, Rheumatology and Emergency Medicine residents are also accommodated. Final year physiotherapy masters students may do placements at any of the three physiotherapy sites.
The Division of Sports Medicine offers a Fellowship in Clinical Sports Medicine for physicians. Details of the Fellowship are posted within this website.
In addition, clinical traineeships for family physicians are also offered (REAP, Enhanced Skills). We regret that we are unable to accept medical students, or undergraduate students at this time.
Conferences and seminars, hosted by the Division, will be posted on this website.
